Unique FUND-RAISING Tool
Helps Churches

Self-Perpetuating Fund-raising Source

Freehold, NJ: A leading American manufacturer of memorial and commemoration products now offers a means for churches to strengthen a congregant’s spiritual and emotional devotion to their church with the added advantage of also providing a self-perpetuating fund-raising source.

W & E Baum, a Freehold, New Jersey-based third generation maker of memorial and commemoration products that works with religious institutions nationwide, has created a Bronze Memorial Board that churches can use to further solidify their faith-based community, while capturing additional non-solicited donations. These boards allow congregants to display a loved one’s name, strengthening the bond between congregant and church. Additionally these Memorial Boards can be used as a fund-raising tool for the church to earn nearly $65,000, while costing them very little.

"It is a positive situation for both the church and its congregation," said Richard Baum, president of W & E Baum. "The church offers the nameplates, while its members get the emotional fulfillment of seeing their loved ones’ names beautifully enshrined. We specifically developed this product to help churches reinforce a sense of a strong faith-based community while receiving additional donations."

Typically, the cost of the Memorial Board is borne by a benefactor, whose name is prominently displayed. The church receives an unsolicited donation whenever a congregant has need for a nameplate. Total donations from one board can approach $65,000.

W & E Baum’s memorial boards are unique in the church market because they can be customized to incorporate specific designs or features singular to a church or a congregation. This type of versatility is not presently available on other commemoration products, and is another way that W & E Baum has attempted to make these memorial boards serve both the church and its congregants.

"Memorializing loved ones in this way has not been done before," Baum said. "Never has a product of this quality, customization, and variety of design been available. It is our hope that congregants can find some comfort in the remembrance of their loved ones, while churches use these boards as a new source of on-going donations."
